crosswords and april sunshine

How many Aprils in Old Blighty have we had the pleasure of a guffawing heatwave...AND on a bank holiday weekend? Well not many! So as you can expect I was damn excited. Therefore, a lazy Saturday wearing shorts and sitting in the garden was absolutely necessary, as was the Ottolenghi sauteed chickpea and Greek yogurt for lunch.

Details after jump...

You can easily follow the recipe here on the Guardian website. I also found this in the Yotam Ottolenghi 'Plenty' book. It incorporates my favourite ingredients: chickpeas, garlic, mint and coriander. So fresh. So easy and perfect lunchtime fare.

I dabbed an Ottolenghi timeless spice 'sumac' on top of the yogurt for extra zing.

p.s. Forget silly old Starbucks (it's not real coffee anyway). Start the day with a homemade ice latte. Just make sure to use good espresso coffee like Lavazza or Illy. Also make it properly, preferably with a moka pot, then pour the espresso over LOTS of ice and top up with milk. Please don't commit the sin of pouring the dreaded skimmed milk. Yuck.
